Ahead of this weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix, seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and renowned Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama teased their unexpected collaboration. Taking to Instagram, the duo revealed a special racing helmet along with an accompanying apparel collection.
The Lewis Hamilton x Hajime Sorayama racing helmet features a design inspired by Sorayama’s metallic silver robot aesthetic complete with a light-up visor. The helmet is also detailed with Hamilton’s usual sponsors, robot elements, and a contrasting gold stripe. The accompanying +44 apparel collection looks to feature a series of jackets, T-shirts, pants, and accessories emblazoned with one of Sorayama’s sexy robots and Hamilton’s signature “+44” brand logo.
“LIMITLESS ⚙️ Worked with @hajimesorayamaofficial on this helmet and so proud of how it came to life !! I’ve been a fan of him and his work for a long time and since the dawn of launching @plus44world, collaborating with him has been a personal goal of mine. Can’t wait for you all to see it on the track,” wrote Lewis Hamilton in a caption.
