Nike‘s World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon is surrounded by sprawling hills and lush forests that — though gorgeous year round — are exceptionally beautiful in the fall, so Nike Sportswear has tapped those hues for a new Air Max 90 “Starfish.” Covered in autumnal camouflage patterns, this new take on the Tinker Hatfield-designed classic is a sporty homage to the terrain and flora of the Pacific Northwest.
Brushstroke-style camo patterns on the ripstop base layer blend two different orange tones with stark black for a striking look. This bold base is bolstered with black nubuck mudguards and midfoot overlays, while a duo of orange shades on the Swooshes, eyestays and rubberized heel badges adds further contrast. Ridged “window” graphics and fabric tongue badges round off the top half. On the lower end, white EVA foam midsoles house an orange Air Max unit, itself surrounded by orange foam. Two-tone black and gum outsoles finalize the look.
The seasonally appropriate Nike Air Max 90 “Starfish/Orange Camo” is available now via the Nike China webstore, and will likely release at US stockists in the coming weeks. The MSRP is set at ¥899 CNY (approximately $132 USD).
