New Balance 1500 "Animal Pack"

New Balance may normally be known for its elegant colorblocking and refined details, but now it’s taking a walk on the wild side with a 1500 “Animal Pack.” The made in-the-UK sneaker still offers heritage construction and premium details, but thanks to the inclusion of bold animal prints it’s significantly more primal than other 1500s that have surfaced in recent months.

No time is wasted applying animal print: pony hair quarter panels and collars alike are equipped with vivid cheetah and zebra graphics, both given an extra level of standing by their ferociously furry construction. It’s business as usual on the rest of the shoe, however, thanks to buttery brown leather heel pieces and suede mudguards plus a brown mesh toebox.

Nodding to the regal nature of both animals included, gold is present on the midfoot’s N logo — where it’s rimmed with white trim — as well as on the heel’s 1500 graphic. Tongues present New Balance and Made in England text in white and gold, respectively, with white laces bringing everything together and a white patch visible on the heel liner. Down below, a white and gray ENCAP midsole with brown details and a gum outsole wrap things up.

The New Balance 1500 “Animal Pack” will release at EU stockists like Sneaker District in the coming weeks, and is priced at €180 USD (approximately $198 USD).
