Since its 2019 debut, Nike‘s Air Max 720 has seen a number of futuristic colorways, like the UNDERCOVER collaboration and the shiny “Metallic Silver/Cosmic Clay.” But now Nike has opted for a new iteration that looks back in time instead of ahead: the silhouette has been given a “Multi-Color/Team Orange” colorway, a lavish pattern reflective of Rennaissance-style paintings.
Starting at the top of the shoe, “Air Max” branding is stamped at the tongue in a sleek futuristic typeface. Bold painterly patterns gloss over all of the uppers in an orangish-red tint, contrasted against black laces, forefoot piping, rubber overlays and mudguards. At the heel is a thin ripstop pull tab, complemented with white “NIKE” branding repeated in a circular shape. This motif is subtly etched throughout the body of the shoe, offering slight contrast to offset the vivid colors. At the mudguards is an orange mini-Swoosh that pops from its glossy black rubber base, while “720” is debossed at the heel. All of these details sit atop a translucent full-length Air Max midsole, added for extra cushioning and support.
