The Get Down - Part II

In a short sneak peek clip, Netflix has just announced that Part II of it’s original series The Get Down will release on April 7. In the first six episodes we followed Zeke aka “Books” (Justice Smith) and his crew of Ra-Ra (Skylan Brooks), Boo-Boo (Tremaine Brown Jr.), and Rumi 411 (Jaden Smith) as they try to balance school, love, and a budding interest in hip-hop culture in 1970′s Bronx, New York. While the group, who names themselves The Get Down Brothers, study the art of DJing, MCing, graffiti, and dropping bars as disciples of Shaolin Fantastic (Shameik Moore) and more, Zeke also has to balance his love for longtime friend Mylene (Herizen F. Guardiola), who wants to make it as a singer.
Part II will look to bring the passion and excitement as well as talent that we’ve come to expect from the Baz Luhrmann team. Check out the sneak peek above and watch for the drop April 7 on Netflix.
