I remember seeing a commercial for this movie on one of my VHS tapes. Yes, I'm old enough to have had a VCR. I hated them commercials before movies. Also made you not even want to watch the movie after all the fast forwarding you would be doing. Let's be real, nobody had time for all that. But I seen this one tho. It starts out with her busting out the trailer and she is knocked up. Her and her boyfriend are headed to California, her friends are out to wish her good bye and while leaving her boyfriend tosses a cigarette in the air. It hits the ground and sets the whole street on fire. I found that pretty cool. That has nothing to do with the main part of the movie.

The film follows five years in the life of Novalee Nation, starting when she is a pregnant 17-year-old girl from Tennessee who is abandoned by her boyfriend at a Wal-Mart in a small Oklahoma town. She secretly moves into the Wal-Mart store where she eventually gives birth to her baby, which attracts media attention. With the help of new friends, she makes a new life for herself in the town.
