Originally released in 1992 and worn by Shaquille O’Neal throughout the 1992-1993 NBA season on his way to Rookie of the Year honors and per game averages of 23.4 points, 13.9 rebounds and 3.5 blocks for the Orlando Magic, the classic “Orlando Blue” edition of the Shaq Attaq has been resurrected for 2013 by Swizz Beatz and Reebok Classics. Making use of Reebok’s tried-and-true PUMP technology in the tongue, the Shaq Attaq was renowned upon its initial release for the use of Graphlite – a lightweight synthetic fiber that allowed for the the removal of hard, dense rubbers in order to shed weight and streamline the silhouette while retaining stability and support. Featuring a predominately white leather upper, the release is marked by applications of black nubuck and light grey suede along with bold Orlando Blue accents throughout. Complete with “SHAQ” branding embroidered along the heel, the 2013 edition of the Reebok Shaq Attaq is due out on April 19 at select Reebok stockists for $160 USD.
