Nike and Kevin Durant together unveiled the Thunder superstar and three-time scoring champ’s latest signature shoe, the KD V. Taking cues from the number five as well as Durant’s hometown of D.C., the shoe makes use of a pentagon pattern on the outsole inspired by the D.C. landmark and features tongue quilting with V stitching. The theme continues on the heel counter and which features a repeating pentagonal pattern and a new ’35′ logo with a star motif. To support Durant’s intense style of play, Nike has incorporated several of the brand’s leading technologies including Nike Zoom in the forefoot, Nike Air in the heel, and a one-piece Hyperfuse upper. The initial ‘Bright Crimson’ colorway takes inspiration from the Maryland state flags with red, yellow and black hits on the sleek upper. The latest Durant signature will launch globally on NIKEiD on November 6, followed by the launch of the ‘Bright Crimson’ colorway on November 8 alongside a Black/Blue colorway.

Fresh off the introduction of “Home” and “Away” Chicago Bulls-inspired colorways of Derrick Rose‘s signature adidas Rose 3.0 earlier this month, adidas Basketball has created a premium “Chicago Fire” edition of the kicks. Inspired by Rose’s hometown Chicago Fire Department and sporting an Electricity-colored heavy-duty rubberized synthetic upper – meant to resemble the look and feel of a firefighter’s turnout coat – the kicks see a smooth black SPRINTFRAME reminiscent of rubber fire boots while grey and reflective 3M Three Stripes branding on the heel and outsole reflect the look of the firefighter’s knee and elbow pads, as well as the turnout coat’s reflective detailing. Finally, the familiar firefighters cross logo appears on the inside of the left shoe’s tongue while the right showcases Rose’s laser-etched signature.
