Los Angeles-based eyewear brand Oliver Peoples and American musician Beck have linked up to produce the Double Helix sunglasses. For Oliver Peoples, music has become an integral part of its maturity as evident on the string of collaborations with various artists in the past alongside producing some original compilation CDs. With this most recent tie up, Oliver Peoples has given Beck the opportunity to conceptualize a design, in which have took them two years to actualize the ideal piece. The result is a vintage-looking pair that was referenced to Beck’s personal dead stock sunglasses and reworked with a distinctive and innovative double-color frame inspired by lenticular. In addition, luggage specialists Porter have custom-made an original case that’s particularly designed for the exclusive model. The case features a minimalist exterior, while a retro-inspired room complements that of the sunglasses’ pop concept with Beck’s signature juxtaposed. The Double Helix Sunglasses is exclusive to select Asian countries which include Japan, Korea and Hong Kong with a retail price of ¥45,150 JPY (approximately $581 USD).
